Bratton Clovelly has an enthusiastic Arts Group that gathers every Wednesday from 1:45pm until 4:30 pm in the Parish Hall which has plenty of space to work in any medium.

A keen and friendly mixed ability group, participants enjoy meeting and working either on their own personal art or craft-work or taking part in the exploration of specific themes chosen by the group on a monthly basis. More recent topics include “On a Branch by the River”, High Summer, “My Family and Other Animals”, Nocturne, Flight, A Country Lane and Reflections.

Everyone brings their own perspective to the group whether it be a love of colour, form, draughtsmanship, op art, drawing from nature, and more recently an interest in arts and crafts with one member in particular exploring the possibilities of sculpting serpentine stone.

The group is open to anyone wanting to explore their creative inner selves using a range of portable media from pencil to paint, from modeling clay to serpentine, from collage to textile art.
We have participants who enjoy working in Acrylic, Pastel, Printing, Watercolour, Oils, Collage and Sketching who are happy to share their knowledge and to chat about what has and hasn't worked for them, especially during the tea break! As and when funds allow, guest tutors are invited to help group members grow more confident in using specific mediums or in developing their ideas and projects.
